(42,641 posts)at least McCain did not refer to Trump as an effing moron.
If only McConnell were a fraction as honest.

I can almost forgive him for dropping Palin into our now injured national consciousness....
I will respect his service to the country however.
I hope *Rump angrily bleeds from his whatever....

(20,219 posts)Didn't he end up supporting dumpcare, too? After having voted against, right after his surgery.
Pretty words are pretty.

(34,402 posts)killing the ACA, but in reality he voted to bring it to the floor to torpedo a bad bill. There are a lot of things I can never forgive him for--most notably inflicting Sarah Palin on us--but I do have to give him props for saving the ACA. I think he really did want a bipartisan solution, not just kill it.

(12,870 posts)... shares responsibility for consigning the late great United States to the ash heap of history, if it indeed comes to that.
I have long thought the 2003 invasion of Iraq will be seen by future historians as a tipping point, but that may be obscured by the damage being done by the creature 45 to our role as leader of the free world.

(14,174 posts)I applaud this statement.
But he is also one of most two-faced politicians in Washington. His actions, in voting, are light years away from some of his public statements. (That last vote not withstanding). He'll happily help to dismantle the social safety net, pollute the environment, reduce civil rights, and vote himself and his rich buddies huge tax cuts, along with his GOP peers.
Its not hard to agree that Trump, as a person, is a distasteful POS. That' easy.

I feel bad about his health, hope he can be with us for a couple of more years.

(22,651 posts)Really sad to see McCain writing/speeches- his own memorial words. Not enough, get in their faces, get on interviews facing 'them'. Make a Legacy for yourself- Americans can be proud of remembering!

When next week he may sign another god forsaken (literally) bill to gouge people more?
