I remember reading back in July, some Republican strategists said that being at 80 percent isn’t good, and dropping to 75 or lower in your own party is basically “panic button” mode.

conservative leaning Polling outfit. The 73 is more like 53,this was kiss job for Trump. eluded to the GOP support numbers this morning.

Last poll I remember was 85ish-13ish, sometime last month. I remember thinking they will never change their minds.

73-23 is horrible for Trump among Republicans only 9 months into his "presidency"

I'm guessing that before 9/11, W was still 90-10 or better among Republicans (9/11 pushed him up vs everybody before he sank down as Iraq became a quagmire.)
