5. Even Trump knows that coal is a dying industry but it is a very good "wedge issue" ...

.... that fires up a large chunk of people in coal country. One large electric company in
OH told a coal company that they would be stopping their use of coal despite that action
would cause the coal company to lay off miners. The Trump administration DID NOT
intervene on behalf the coal miners/coal company.

Fox news, hate talk radio, right wing pastors, the NRA, coal bosses, and generations of
just being a "dumb ass" has warped the minds of millions of people Appalachia and talk
about bringing coal back sounds good to them.

8. Natural gas is cheaper, cleaner, and easier to use then coal for electrical production.

The power companies have spent billions switching over from coal to gas and they
are not going back. However I was just in W.V. and the "we need to use coal and
fuck those liberal environmentalists" memes are very very strong. "Coal Keeps the Lights ON"
and "Clean Coal Works" signs and bumper stickers were all over the place. A man in
the little hotel bar restaurant where were staying (Fayetteville, WV*) had on a black t shirt
that had an American flag, a confederate battle flag, an eagle, a pistol, and something
like "I dig coal." No matter if it is Trump or Pence or Fox News pro coal talk scratches the
itch that man has. Facts don't matter to those people.
