Lie #1: America is the most highly-taxed country in the world
This is a Trump special: hes said it many, many times, most recently just this past week. Each time, fact-checkers have piled on to point out that its false. Heres taxes as a percentage of GDP, from the OECD:
......
Why does Trump keep repeating what even he has to know by now is a flat lie? I suspect its a power thing: he enjoys showing that he can lie repeatedly through his teeth, be caught red-handed in his lie again and again, and his followers will still believe him rather than the fake news media.
Lie #2: The estate tax is destroying farmers and truckers
Tales of struggling family farms disbanded because they cant afford the taxes when the patriarch dies have flourished for decades, despite the absence of any examples. I dont mean examples are rare: I mean that advocates of estate tax repeal havent been able to come up with a single example at least since the late 1970s, when exemption levels were raised to the equivalent of around $2 million in todays dollars.

(81,466 posts)trump doesn't, and probably can't, realize that. His outlook is so myopic and limited that he can't. Seems to me that since nobody's ever told him "NO, Donald!", and since he's always been rich, having been born into wealth, and has so effectively projected an image of power that nobody ever questions him (especially when he uses that power to bully and prey upon the weaker, less influential, and less monied), this shitty behavior of his that we now have to live with - has NEVER BEEN CHECKED.
There have never been any sorts of significant consequences that he's had to face, that might check or modify his shitty behavior. Everything and everyone in his life - all of it - has somehow reinforced or otherwise validated that shitty behavior. There's been no downside to check or modify his shitty behavior. NO consequences of any sort. Not in business. Not in investing. Not in public relations. Not in sex. Not in trendiness. Not with women. Not with colleagues. Not with adversaries. Not with the press. Not with the public. As a matter of fact, it's been quite the opposite. He's been rewarded with the ultimate prize on earth - the presidency of the most powerful country on earth: ours.
I keep thinking about that old cliche "the bigger they are, the harder they fall." I'm almost afraid to imagine what donald trump's ultimate fall might be. Because in his position NOW, he's poised to take us all down with him.

(3,538 posts)Trump claims these tax cuts will not personally benefit him or his family. "Not a dime" he said, or something like that. How does his base digest so many lies at a time?

I like things to be said precisely and clearly, let me do it for them :
Idiotic supremacists. I wouldn't be proud in their stead but how will they understand that ? They barely have 2 or 3 neurons, rarely interconnected.
