It means a GOP filled with Trumps and Roy Moore's. The goal is to destroy the state, to abolish all social welfare programs and public spending so that private wealth--and survival of the wealthiest--is all that remains. It marshals white supremacy in pursuit of that goal.

Bannon is backed by Mercer money in this cause, which is why Ted Cruz is exempt.

with even more nutjobs.

I never want the worst candidate to win a GOP primary because we always end up getting stuck with them.

A few nutjobs are why repeal-replace went down in flames. It got caught between the rock of the moderates, and the hard place of the freedom caucus. Too many nutjobs are undoubtedly terrible for the country (see the last election), but irl it's hard to predict how this will all shake out.

What's apparent is that the GOP was on its way to fracturing before the election, and that the chaos of the last 8 months is only hastening that. That infighting, combined with the fact that the GOP is already a minority of the American populace, and that whites are becoming a minority of the American populace, will only continue to put stress on the party.

The moderates voted against it, not the nutjobs.

A nutjob is poised to launch nuclear weapons, threatening the lives of much of the planet. That is what nutjobs do. They base legal decisions on the bible rather than the Constitution. They allow people to die in Puerto Rico.

Of course it puts stress on the GOP, but that doesn't necessarily accrue to the benefit of Democrats.

...The first time around because it wasn't cruel enough. I'm not advocating for insanity, but for focusing on the root causes.

People vote for nutjobs because of deep misinformation and cultural reasons that don't stand up to scrutiny. I would prefer to focus on education and what progressives can offer to better the nation. Otherwise, the nutjobs will just keep respawning.

Right now, the congress is not fully overtaken by the nutjobs. Even the presidency is sabotaging the GOP agenda more than progressing it. Things could get much worse though if we don't find a way to deal with the misinfo/disinfo holistically.
