Values voters expect the GOP to make America pray again. The change they demand and expect is what the rest of us reject. We want freedom "from" religion and religion out of government and politics. They want the 10 Commandments the law of the land replacing the Bill of Right.
A Christianized pubic school system is their primary goal. That place is a place where the Bible is on equal footing with all other subjects. And it is a place where prayer and church attendance are mandatory. They want to run education in this country in the worst way. Devos it their staunchest and most aggressive ally. And they want "certified" Christian teachers and professors as well.
Their agenda is SO radical it would make the founding fathers heads spin.

(1,714 posts)You know their "agenda?" You think there is a way to make church attendance "mandatory?"
Bullshit.

(36,509 posts)he did a segment on the rad "Christian" right. He said that he'd never heard of them, but now that he knew what they were about, they scared the crap out of him & that journalists needed to start reporting on this. But have they?

(10,602 posts)The underpinnings of the religious right are the militias who are their vanguard. Why do you think these people fully support the NRA and totally open carry.

WASHINGTON ― Thursday was a good day for Amy Coney Barrett. A Senate committee voted to advance her nomination to be a federal judge.
It wasnt a pretty vote. Every Democrat on the Judiciary Committee opposed her nomination. They scrutinized her past writings on abortion, which include her questioning the precedent of Roe v. Wade and condemning the birth control benefit under the Affordable Care Act as a grave infringement on religious liberty. One Democrat, Al Franken (Minn.), called her out for taking a speaking fee from the Alliance Defending Freedom, a nonprofit thats defended forced sterilization for transgender people and has been dubbed a hate group by the Southern Poverty Law Center.
But Republicans dont need Democrats votes, and now Barrett, a 45-year-old law professor at the University of Notre Dame, is all but certain to be confirmed to a lifetime post on the U.S. Court of Appeals for the 7th Circuit a court one level below the Supreme Court.
Barrett is the model judicial candidate for this White House: young, conservative, and opposed to abortion and LGBTQ rights. For all the stories about President Donald Trump using his executive power to roll back civil rights protections in the past day, his administration axed the ACA birth control benefit and ended workplace protections for transgender people it is here, on the courts, where his team is working most aggressively to reshape the country.

(369 posts)I worked for a medical device company in sales during the 70s. My district manager hired 9 out of the top 10 salesmen in the company. He was promoted and his replacement was a Dominionist who eventually fired all of the sales reps in his district for non-performance (lots of lawsuits over that and lots of money paid out for claims). He hired people from his church because he wanted prayer meetings at the district sales meetings.
There was an African-American sales rep who was hired to replace him in his former sales territory in Philly. The district manager fired him before he even went through sales training. He rep sued and was allowed to attend sales training which he aced. After training when he started to sell in his territory, he ended up selling more than all the other trainees combined. The Dominionist manager fired him anyway for nonperformance. At the exit interview he told the rep that he fired the three top Jew Sales Reps (including me) and does not care about firing a n*ger like him. The rep wore a wire and was awarded lots of money.
BTW, the only reason the manager was not fired was that his daughter had severe congenital deformities in her face and the company was paying for her reconstructive surgery. They demoted him so that his daughter could continue the surgeries. The company self insured back in the 70s so it was paying for the surgery out of pocket. It was several million dollars in surgery.
The Dominionist manager hired the worst sales reps in the country. There were a lot of heads rolling after that. The CEO called me and begged me to come back. I was Salesman of the Year in 7 out of 10 product categories. I told him to get stuffed. With all my sales credentials, I got a better job immediately.
They are out there and they are legion
