http://content.usatoday.com/communities/onpolitics/post/2012/07/chris-christie-keynote-speaker-gop-convention-/1"...New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie has been tapped to give the keynote address at the Republican National Convention next month in Tampa, according to NBC News.
Christie, a popular governor who decided against running for president, is a frequent surrogate for Mitt Romney. Today, he is helping his party's standard-bearer raise campaign funds.
While Christie has been frequently mentioned as a possible Romney running mate, he has said repeatedly that he is not interested in being vice president. ..."
So Christie definitely won't be the VP pick and he's maneuvering to become party leader and the new face of the GOP.

You missed The Last Word showing Christie saying sensible things.
Which makes me wonder what kind of keynote he can deliver to that crowd.

(13,200 posts)9. He may be flown in by helicopter...it's a safety issue...
Fire marshals are concerned that walking would cause his thighs to generate enough heat to start a fire as they rub together.

The new face of the GOP won't even be in office in January 2014. Seriously - our unemployment numbers won't go down by next November. I want the jerk completely attached to the establishment GOP.

Seriously, though, watching his breathing after the least exertion makes me wonder if he'll make it to the podium.
