Best quote I've heard all day (especially in light of hamsterjill's post)

"The G O P insists that the Vegas shooter's gun arsenal is "a right," but medical treatment for his 500+ survivors is merely "a privilege."

I only accept it if the person claiming the distinction is also vegan and an outspoken opponent of the death penalty.

If they were truly pro-life they wouldn't be against people getting abortions who really need them.
It doesn't matter what the reason is, and by the way it's nobody else's business anyway.

Just sayin'

Sort of like Fox "News."

Once, some people from my outfit invited (for reasons I never found out) the son of a Republican Arkansas former preacher (later convicted of theft and embezzlement--anyone surprised?) to lunch with us in Dallas. He was spouting off about how "pro-life" he was, and how "life" was sacred, etc etc. As the other three people at the table were women, they started rolling their eyes, but politely said nothing. I asked the guy flat out if he ate meat. Caught off guard, and obviously not knowing where I was going, he said, "sure." I then asked him if he supported the death penalty. Again: "sure." I then, said, "so, you're not in the least pro-life after all." The three women were then no longer content to just roll their eyes, jumped in and finished his sorry ass off (some Dallas women have Ann Richards and Molly Ivins as their political role models--best not to go one-on-three againt them if you are a Republican).

They are trying their best to make sure Democrats either are denied the right to vote, or else to ensure that votes for Democratic candidates are not counted. I think they were so pleased with their success in 2000 that they have been refining their efforts ever since. 2008 overwhelmed them, but with Citizens United, they struck back with a vengeance. Then, with governors with questionable records at keeping the vote counts honest, such as Wisconsin's Scott Walker, they were in a position to throw any election that was anywhere near close.

The rightwingers in this country have been behind the nasty insidious illegal gerrymandering for over 20 years. They've been installing their hacked and secretly programmed voting machines in every state for the last 30 years.

The GOP has to cheat in order to win, and they know it. That's why they're always looking for ways to game the system. Uncle Vladdy is only too happy to help them.

Since Repub always cheat and play dirty should the Dems finally play the game their Way? Maybe then we would have a chance.

Bill Maher asked two liberal guests last week and was mad when they both said that Dems should continue to take the high road (Fran Lebowitz and Salman Rushdie). I agree with Bill. I would like to win and I do not care how...I am angry that they stole 2000 and 2016.

Partnering with Putin is a relatively new twist. But the voter suppression and gerrymandering plans have been in place for close to 30 years. Also the appeal to racism and white supremacy that's all come about since Reagan. I never saw it while I was growing up in the 50's and 60's, but it's certainly a main tenet of the GOP now.

Whether it's a conspiracy, well no, it's their major strategy for staying on top. They don't care if it's cheating - it's all part of the game for them. The GOP always accuses the Democrats of cheating, when in fact they're the only ones doing it.

Never trust anything a Republican says. It's all lies and deflection.

(Related but separate: we have learn how to distinguish between the weaselly Republicans and the deplorables who voted for Trump. Those deplorables had nothing to do with voter suppression or gerrymandering. They probably don't even know it's happening.)

Republicans. I was thinking of the ridicule Hillary took back when Bill was in office and being hounded by the right wing. She referred to a "vast right wing conspiracy." The Repugs (and a lot of the press) hooted and laughed about how ridiculous she was being.

Well, my Mom might have voted Democratic but all the others were Republican. It wasn't a big deal in the 50's.

If Eisenhower were running now, I'd at least take him seriously as a candidate.
But the way things are now, I know that I'll never vote for a Republican - ever.

Now that 2016 has happened, how can anyone?

Need to pound home the point that the pukes are disgustingly hipocritical again and again, gerrymandering, voter suppression, hacked voting machines, hacked elections, dark money, accepting money from Russia, warmongering, these tax falsehoods, lying about everything under the sun, etc....

If they'd just come out and tell the truth about the pukes and keep hammering it home we wouldn't need to use their tactics, we need everyone to say the same truths all the time, everytime and not be distracted by their lies and obfuscation.

Link dumpfs actions and lies to each and every one who had anything to do with him including the ones who looked the other way while he tried to dismantle our country.

I think this would do the job to prove to the world who is right and who is wrong, who is good for our country and who isn't.

If we all stayed on message all the time we would have no problem backing these rats in to a corner, in the spotlight, where they can't hide.
