Tillerson is probably going to stay. Here's why.

If, in fact, Tillerson, Mattis, and Kelly have a "suicide pact", and Two Scoops knows it, they're safe. This maladministration has no talent to turn to capable of senate confirmation, let alone the ability to do those jobs. The talk about Pompeo coming over from the CIA is more likely Pompeo's dream and not Trump's plan. But even if it were, then who runs the CIA?

A CIA led by a career spook is likely bad news for Trump. The pros over there hate him and dirty tricks is their stock in trade. He dare not risk it.

Tillerson, in Trump's eyes, may be expendable. He'd be okay letting a career diplomat run the place. But if the "suicide pact is real, he loses Kelly and Mattis, too. While we can joke that he's be happy to see Kelly gone, he knows that Kelly is what is holding things together. And without Mattis, he's lost.

So no, I think Hair Farce One is betwixt a rock and a hard place.

Mattis, Kelly, or Tillerson? He would be in such a world of hurt. For starters, those 3 know where a lot of bodies are buried. Nothing would prevent them from telling tales out of school. Ya gotta know that there will be some juicey spill-all books post-Trump. And I'm not even talking about classified info. Trump administration is a farce. Wish Mozart were alive to set it as an opera.

speaking to new employees to his department. He was very impressive and encouraging in what he was telling them while trying to instill a sense of responsibility and cooperation with other employees. He encouraged them to come forth with their ideas for improving the department and to keep a positive outlook for success.

Problem is, I don't know if that was live or recorded as I was running errands and just caught part of it. If it was live, I don't see Tillerson leaving. If it was a recording, who knows?

Does anyone really believe that these serious people are planning for Armageddon?

If they are the last line of defense against Trump beginning World War Three, then we're fucked.

This and only this. Tillerson doesn't want to leave, for the same reason. And Trump has to get the oil deal passed in order to pay of his debts to Putin. Tillerson is safe.

we're in the darkest timeline where he's one of the few barriers between multiple military confrontations.

I mean, I can do the normal "he's so bad" partisan ramblings (and it's true, he's terrible), but it's not going to get better than Tillerson. We're not going to get John Kerry or HRC if Tillerson leaves. And I think Kelly and Mattis know this. We'd either get Shill Pompeo or "Begging for War" Haley. Not to mention, the absense of a top Diplomat is going to give Twitler's rants a bit more international impact.

crap and even do that absurd press conference to try to smooth the waters a bit and quiet the talk about his problematic relationship with Trump.

Both Trump and Tillerson need to keep Putin happy, so my guess is that he stays.
