How to kill a gun bill - take cover.

With seemingly tepid bipartisan interest in a ban on "Bump Stocks" that allow weapons to be capable of automatic fire, everyone gets to show concern. From here to a signed bill may be a long road.

Isn't it easy for someone to agree with the idea and win over general public sentiment and then vote against it when it includes funding for the wall, deportation enforcement or other items which then give cover to kill the bill.

"Why yes, I support the banning of these awful weapons, but I could vote for a bill that funds a library in Omaha ........"
