The UN Arms Trade Treaty that has been identified by observers as a flagrant threat to the second amendment and which Barack Obama is determined to sign has its roots in a 1961 State Department memorandum which explains how the United Nations will oversee “complete disarmament” of the American people under the ruse of preventing war. The UN Arms Treaty has caused so much controversy because it outlines a plan to target “all types of conventional weapons, notably including small arms and light weapons,” according to Forbes’ Larry Bell.
Former US Ambassador to the UN John Bolton also warns that the agreement “is trying to act as though this is really just a treaty about international arms trade between nation states, but there is no doubt that the real agenda here is domestic firearms control.”

I agree with you Mary. Just look at what's gone on the last four years. Ocrappo gets his way every single time on everything he wants. The Republicans back down every time. EVERY TIME!!! All they do is give lip service and then when that no good S.O.B. Obama wants something, no matter how unconstitutional, they all jump. The feds are the enemy now. There's no doubt about it. And if anybody thinks U.S. troops won't fire on civilians, they're in for a rude awakening. 150 years ago U.S. troops were murdering white southerners who were fighting for their independence from what had become a tyrannical federal govt. Sound familiar, considering the same thing is happening today?

Yo, Magnus, what rock do you live under? American soldiers are sworn at the time of enlistment to "protect and defend the Constitution from all enemies foreign and domestic"; even so, they are now under orders, which they are obeying, to disregard their oath and simply do whatever they are trained and told to do. So, you go ahead and stand in front of these traitors and see if you get lucky enough to simply get stomped on under GP and not get shot even if you aren't armed or trying to avoid being disarmed...

Amen Robert & Mary. If anybody really wants the truth about the War Between the States, read: The South Was Right" by Kennedy & Kennedy. Bo is looking for an excuse to declare a state of emergency. A former Marine told me he was asked if he would confiscate citizens' weapons if ordered and he said he would resign his commission. Of course Bo is planning on his own Civilian Army likely staffed by the New Black Panthers, Acorn & Unions. As a conservative I have found the Tea Party to be the only organization that represents my political views and the only hope of keeping the Republicans in line.

Actually, all it is doing is surveying the high-tension wires (which cut through my property) to make sure there aren't any trees encroaching on the lines. My neighbor had to pull out two trees because of said threat. He put in two shrubs that are almost as high as the trees had been. I think he'll be getting another letter.

if our Washington Pols ("bipartisan&quot are willing to commit the US to "agreements" which smack of treaties simply to get around the public oversight required of treaties, against the wishes of the vast majority of the population, why should I trust that they wouldn't enter similar agreements which are adverse to our constitutional rights and/or sovereignty?

Time for a new "gun grabber" sales pitch. "Better Git 'em now while ya still can..."

It is a large load of bovine excrement. Not a single solitary gun has been grabbed, and none will be. They are an irrelevant plaything for those in need of overcompensation for other more interpersonal shortcomings. The government does not want your guns, they have far better and bigger guns. The government does not care about your guns any more than it cares about your TV or Microwave oven, perhaps even less, as government does pass safety regulations to assure these appliances don't set your house on fire. They aren't coming to grab your TV or Microwave either.

Your guns are no threat to anyone beyond those who live closest to them (usually those also living in your own house)
