It feels damned good to see a democrat throwing hard punches, refuse to apologize over faux offenses, and define the republicans accurately.
It's driving the repubs mad and that's ever so satisfying to watch.

Yeah!!!

(24,689 posts)it feels like the Obama campaign is several steps ahead of Romney and have total control over the situation. The Repubs keep trying to create a diversion but the issues of Bain and taxes keep coming back.
Yes, it is a wonderful thing to watch! Kudos to the Obama compaing.. keep it up.

(20,776 posts)A lot of PURE HATE from the Republican side. Their tactics are out in the open now, and one can see just how much they will ignore Romney's gaffs over their hate for Obama.

(10,751 posts)And about bloody time!
Of course, I don't see that the Obama team had any choice but to come out swinging. They'll be outspent in this campaign by a substantial amount. Their only realistic strategy is to weaken their opponent from the gate, and they've done a masterful job of it so far.
As Josh at TPM points out, attacking early like this allows them to frame the candidate and puts him on the defensive. Here's hoping it continues to work!
I'm not the biggest Obama booster around here, not by any means -- but when it comes to this Presidential race, I gotta say: You go, Obama!! Go get 'em, champ!!!

(1,665 posts)we now have to inform our Democratic representatives (if fortunate enough to have at least one) that we expect the same from them.

(894 posts)It's necessary, but I get no enjoyment from watching discourse fall apart.
Sometimes it has to be done and I applaud the administration for doing it.

(35,015 posts)That's the difference between the two sides...and 'discourse' is not a word in the GOP's dictionary.
I think it's about time the Dems fight.

(32,090 posts)I quickly caught on to the fact that he's not nearly as liberal as I'd like him to be (but then there aren't all that many communists in this country so ...) but I did see that he could win. When you are dealing with republicans you need to pick the person who has a shot at beating them and I knew he could do it.

(19 posts)Yeah, it is fun to watch, but it was also fun to watch the "uprising" in Wisconsin, and we saw how that turned out. And it would have been more fun to watch Obama and the Dems grow a pair during the health care fiasco and the extension of the Bush tax cuts.
No, they may have grown a pair and be putting it to the Republicans now that we're in campaign mode, but once Obama is re-elected (if he is), it'll be the same ole "let's work together" mantra that worked so well the last three years...

(5,737 posts)but I take it as an indication that the next four years could be what we hoped for in the first four. And THAT has the Repubs terrified! If Obama and crew are slugging this hard during the campaign, the Repubs will have no doubt that this will be a different president from the one that offered so much compromise during his first term. It's truly exciting to contemplate!
