So, maybe we should be asking, why on a per capita basis, does the US seem to have such a vastly larger problem with the whole "mentally ill to the point of mass shooting/violence" than the rest of the world? And really, in a tip of the hat to the current cultural problems, why do white US males have such a disproportionate mental health problem with respect to the whole mass shooting issue?

and it's such total bullshit. They voted away the Obama-era ban on gun sales to people who are not competent to cash a check on their own; how serious can they be about mental health and guns? Honest to glob, the Social Security admin. was allowing access to ids of people on SSI, which means they are too ill or disabled to support themselves, many of them with guardians to protect their interests, yet if they want to buy a gun? Sure! No problem!

And suspected terrorists who are not allowed on airplanes? Have a revolver! Or a long gun!

The right to bear arms is the second amendment to the bill of rights. That makes it extremely important to the founding fathers and I have to agree that responsible gun ownership is something we should all be doing. The majority of non insane gun laws being recommended would not stop most of the mass shootings we have had. Draconian attempts to fix the problem will not work. People in here have actually called for complete bans with harsh punishments and random searched while in other places admitting that the police are not capable of doing their jobs without being racist Anna's killing black males. So you want to give them an easier time to kill people and say oh he had an illegal gun see so there's killing was justified. If you want to stop the mass shootings, find out what they have in common and find a way to stop them that does not include taking away half of the bill of rights. If you have not been watching the news thug are just using cars when they can't get guns.

Type out the full text on my cell phone.....i assume you can look it up elsewhere. Debating the semantics of the second amendment is not beneficial to the dialogue of reducing gun deaths.

It's the favorite meaningless go-to response for Gun Advocates desperate to protect their precious, precious guns.

Like good little soldiers, they dutifully parrot the slogan dictated by the NRA.

When we areas not members now do we troll their pages. Just because we do not want a full gun ban or illegal searches does not mean we think everything is hunky dory. Come up with something that is in the middle and would be effective.
