/ Understand this book was published in the 1920s, though founding ideas hold true today. Manipulation of the information space is key.
/ Information is pressed into societies through memetic movement and mechanisms established for societal uniformity.
/ One premise that is important to understand is the "Invisible Rulers" theme.
/ An example of how the invisible rulers works
/ Continued on Invisible rulers/Government. No, these aren't the lizard people, these are cultural and societal leaders. Cont' in 3 hours!
/ Manipulating social behavior through propaganda is typified by this classic piece. Circa 1920s by Bernays
/ Note using a cultural reference, appealing to ego, fear, and hope, all in one.
/ These visuals are the early memes of the 20th century that channels work later studied by DARPA in the early 2000s
/ Bernays' work was successful. His ideas were weaponized and used to maintain United Fruits' dominance in Central America
/ When we mean effective, we are talking about this type of effectiveness; deposing unfriendly governments.
/ Bernays understood the power of propaganda through the power of communications. Note the last sentence.
/ For amplification purposes, read the section again. This was back in 1929. Contrast to today's communication environment.
Y'all might be thinking, "well Mr. Wolverines, what's this all mean now?" It means the same tactics are being used on you.
/ In order to fight propaganda, you have to recognize them. I'll post the definitions of each type in alphabetical order.

/ Now that we know what to look for, let's look at some recent propaganda. Note the themes that are used.
/ Note the previous propaganda memes. Their purpose were clear; influence US audiences via the cognitive domain.
/ There's the eventual goal of creating "True Believers". Sound like anyone you know?
/ True believers are most effectively powered by hope and empowerment. Again, sound familiar?
/ Given the amount of information used against you, what will you do now? Maybe we need to give this a chance?
/ Given how fast we are evolving in communication, understand that accelerated cultural evolution is directly tied to this.
/ End for now.
