(16,505 posts)Man with automatic weapons unlimited ammo and the high ground. It's about the most dangerous scenario there is. Not unlike the University of Texas incident many years ago though he didn't have fully automatic weapons.

(19,174 posts)I am afraid that terrorists will use this as an example. There are festivals all the time all over the world near hotels. If you got unlimited ammo and a few bad actors it could be much much worse.

why do people think this should've stood out so much? He checked in multiple days ahead of time. If he walked into the hotel carrying 1 suitcase multiple times each day and went up to his room no one would've thought a thing. There were probably hundreds if not thousands of guests. Do you think the hotel staff are eyeballing every person coming in? hind sight as they say is 20/20.
