Tom Petty, Humanitarian and Amnesty International supporter

I feel sad on hearing the news. I volunteered at the Amnesty International table at his Nashville concert earlier this year. He has been part of Amnesty's Rhythm and Rights program for decades and also received a special humanitarian award at the 2017 Grammys. A good man with a conscience who used his celebrity position to make the world a better place and to encourage others to stand up for human rights and dignity.

It was an erroneous report.

10. There is a recent post that says he may not be dead.

Under General,Discussion on DU Home Page there are conflicting reports and apparently Petty'-Send child said that the report is incorrect and he is NOT dead yet.
