cheap to pay dues and either vote for Trump, or support his stance on guns.

5. I surrender

I just totally give up. If Sandy Hook didn't cause us to change our gun laws, nothing will. I refuse to argue about guns any longer; I will do what I can to protect my loved ones (I caused quite a stir when long ago I wouldn't let my son play at a house where there were guns, no matter how securely stored) but of course as this latest shooting shows, there is no real protection against gun violence. I'm not going to waste my dwindling grey matter on trying to work this out.

Let them have their fucking guns. Most of their victims are their own families, and if they care more about their so-called second amendment rights--you know, their right to belong to a well-regulated militia--than they do about the safety of their loved ones, well, that's on them. I'm sick of it.

9. Didn't They Just Shoot Themselves In The Foot (Pun Intended) With This?

Kind of made the point for us, didn't they? If they're saying that 3 mass shootings isn't all that much (kinda ghoulish, but OK, let's go with it), then aren't they kind of saying that legislation banning guns WORKS?

Then the other side of that argument is, THREE mass shootings is still too many.

7. The NRA Fights For People Like This
Mon Oct 2, 2017, 10:50 AM
Oct 2017

For their right to have access to FULLY AUTOMATIC assault weapons (watch the video on YouTube and tell me that gun isn't fully automatic) despite their mental status. Tell me that guy would have killed 50 people and wounded 200 more shooting a muzzle loader or a musket.

Tell me who beats back legislation aimed at keeping guns out of the hands of people who shouldn't have them DESPITE the fact that 90% of the American public WANTS that kind of legislation.

And now they're fighting to make silencers easier to get. Silencers make it harder to locate the source of the shooting in a mass shooting situation AND loud gunshots cause people to run, making it harder to shoot them. Want to know why they're fighting so hard for silencers? I actually heard a radio host predict this about 2 weeks ago. Under Trump, gun sales are way down (the NRA has spent so long scaring people into thinking Democrats are coming for their guns that they've got nothing when a Republican takes office). The gun manufacturers are calling it the "Trump Slump." Because the NRA is nothing more than the PR arm of the gun manufacturers, they had to figure out how to get more money out of people. If they're not selling guns, they have to sell gun accessories to the people who already have the guns. Hence the move to make silencers easier to get. When you see the NRA for what they actually are (the body tasked with getting money out of the people's hands and into the gun manufacturers' pockets), it's easy to predict what they'll do next.

Kinda like how you can know for sure that they'll use this LATEST mass shooting (and how sickening is it that we have to say those words so often?) to try to get more people to buy guns. Be afraid!!! Buy guns!!!

I attend concerts frequently and many of them are outdoors. The thought that something like this could happen is just too much to bear.

I keep imagining what would happen at Glen Helen or The Forum or The Palladium, even if some dipshit throws a firecracker, and it ain't pretty.

15. I have been to all of those venues this year.

I saw Iron Maiden at Glen Helen, Flogging Molly at the Forum, and Portugal The Man and 311 at the Palladium. And I will be going back to those venues. I would love to see Cal Jam but I will be out of town. I'm going to Denver this week and they're expecting over 100,000 people at the event I'm going to this weekend. I really hope there's extra security because of this. And I really hope concert and hotel security are taken more seriously because of this.

16. One of the main things I think about is: How am I getting out if the shit jumps off?
Tue Oct 3, 2017, 02:23 PM
Oct 2017

Palladium is street level and actually has a bunch of ways out, but it depends on where the shit starts. Everyone's gonna instinctively flow to that one bottleneck straight back from the stage. If you get out of there you can blast out of the exits right across the walkway between the drink bars. There's a few other ways out if you go the other way, stage left between the bar (restrooms?) and the stage being one. Not sure about that area under the overhang to the right of the stage. (And the people on the balcony are fucked. I think there's only that one stairway down from there.)

Forum's tough because you have to go up to get out.

Glen Helen would be a fucking nightmare unless you're out on the lawn.

17. If I get assigned seating I always get the aisle if possible.

If I'm at a general admission event I always pick a spot near the closest exit. I mean the sad thing is that conservatives and the gun lobby have turned this country into one gigantic war zone and we're fearful of the chaos that will happen next. I never used to be this fearful of going to a show but with what happened in Vegas and what happened in Manchester this year, believe me, I am watching my back.

12. GoDaddy hosts their domain. EVERYONE call up and complain VIGOROUSLY. IT WORKS!!

I have called GoDaddy every day to vehemently complain about the NRA, whom most reasonable people are now starting to understand it would be considered a terrorist organization if it were politically on the left.

Here is their number: 480-505-8877

Call up to complain that the NRA is hosted on their servers, and you want them to remove them. If a thousand of us called them once a day and unloaded on their call staff, you can bet that they'd deep-stormfront the nra domain like a hot potato.
