(3,479 posts)Could have made that shot with a hand gun.

(7,434 posts)The Right will demand that everyone own an automatic weapon. There will never be a society SAFER than one in which there's a machine gun in every home, every apartment, every store, every place of business, every church, under every cot under every bridge.
There. Fixed it for you.

(63,228 posts)There will be an aggressive crackdown on undocumented immigrants and noticeable uptick in blue-on-black violence.
No change to gun laws or to the general downplaying of white males as perpetrators.

(63,228 posts)I would of course never mock the victims, their families, nor the witnesses to this massacre.
My joke was driven by fear of what our idiot pseudopresident will say in response, with no disrespect intended to anyone involved in the situation.

Gun manufacturers are popping the champagne corks.

(39,171 posts)the Repukes will not mention gun control. The fear of stricter laws was what drove past spikes. There is no such fear this time.

(16,130 posts)the day twenty first graders were shot to death. If that wasn't enough to change anything, a bunch of adults being shot, even white ones, won't move the needle even a little bit toward sanity.
kytngirl
(99 posts)I knew, just knew that if seeing those precious babies slain didn't change the gun law, nothing would. You're right, nothing is going to change.
You know what else? Seems like when we had that killing in the movie theater, the news cycle said it was the worst mass killing (by a lone gunman) on American soil. Then we had the massacre in Florida and the news cycle said it was the worst mass killing on American soil. Now Las Vegas and their saying it is the worst mass killing on America soil. Notice how the body count rises with each "worst mass killing"?

(28,811 posts)listening to LV local coverage, it doesn't even come up. newscaster asked rhetorically, what can you do to stop something like this? well how about you demand reporting of huge ammunition purchases going to one address, how about you outlaw guns capable of a massacre like this? but you're right. and i guess that's why i'm so distraught right now. there aren't enough dead bodies to change a fucking thing.
