They rely upon visual security. Not big CT scanners and agents going through luggage.

Wouldn't be hard at all to conceal the weapon and have it taken straight up to his room.

They will be able to show his every movement with all the footage that the hotels collect. Perhaps the last game he gambled at and even down to the last drink or meal he had before he went to his room.

3. I haven't yet seen a hotel search a bag of golf clubs to verify that it contained only golf clubs

What I expect to hear in the near future is about what a shame it is that hotels now require all luggage brought into hotels to be searched by security before entering.

What we SHOULD be hearing instead about how it is no longer possible for non-military on active duty to have access to weapons like the one used at the Mandalay Bay.

Maybe this tragedy will prevent Congress from passing those two gun bills this week.

Sound suppressors don't make weapons silent, or more deadly. In particular, the loud "crack" of a supersonic rifle round cannot be suppressed.

Also, he had these guns illegally, so he doesn't seem concerned with what is legal.

Stickers on window can not open, for your safety, tempered glass etc. Not something at the time I thought much about.

Although a weapon like that just a burst would take out the window.

The Texas incident in the 60s comes to mind just take a perch and take out people at random.

As always the gun lovers are obsessed about the exact technical details of the weapon used.
Any semiauto rifle with lots of ammo would have killed many here. Hell any semiauto pistol would have - he was shooting into a crowd.
