The evidence doesn't really support this. Polls didn't swing that much & Moore's 9-point win was fairly consistent with what they showed.

What's the president's real purpose here? It's to get people repeating and retweeting his words, which are targeted at his base. Only the base matters now - 60% of Americans hate Trump, so he must shore up support with the base.

And nothing hurts Trump with the base more than showing weakness. Low energy. Defeat. Feebleness.
That's why Trump is tweeting this, and why we must highlight his toothlessness in this AL race.
