Trump's Not Crazy Like A Fox, 'He's Just Crazy'

The man who co-authored Donald Trump’s signature book issued a stern warning about the president’s mental health.

Tony Schwartz, who co-wrote 1987?s The Art of the Deal with the future president, called Trump “delusional” in an interview with CNN’s Anderson Cooper.

He also asked if Trump is “crazy like a fox or just crazy,” then answered his own question:

“I think the overwhelming weight of evidence suggests that he’s just crazy. And not crazy, causal crazy. I’m talking about crazy ― I’m not a psychiatrist, so I actually can get away with saying this ― but crazy as a personality disorder.”

“Simple answer is, he says whatever he thinks serves him,” Schwartz said. “And while he’s saying it, he does believe it.”

Trump is not some interesting manipulator - trying to set fires and debates over here, to take attention away from something else.

He's all instinct and stream of consciousness. He does what he feels like doing - that it works says more about us as a country than it says about him.

He's OUR Rorschach test.

The Donald's not technically insane. When pushed to it he can almost certainly recognize reality, no indication he hears voices, etc.

But personality disorders make people behave very abnormally, and he's been flagrantly displaying very abnormal behaviors for decades. They can also negatively affect cognition, and stress can make them worse. I think all of this obviously showing in his "craziness."
