Just imagine how FDR, or JFK, or Clinton, or Obama, would have dealt with Puerto Rico...

...or, for that matter, Ike. Or--gulp--Nixon. Or--double gulp--Reagan. Or even--God help me--Dubya. "Heckuva job, Brownie" looks downright brilliant, compared to the Thing we have in the White House now. Can you imagine *any* of them reacting as Dolt 45 has...?

They'd have suspended the Jones Act on the first day; deployed enough military and FEMA personnel to clear roads and get supplies off the docks to the people who need them; and seen to it that all necessary funds were appropriate for relief and rebuilding. W's big stupid mistake after Katrina was that he delegated the responsibility to manage the relief process to a completely unqualified FEMA director who hadn't a clue either. The current FEMA director seems much better qualified, but Puerto Rico needs a whole lot more than FEMA can do by itself. But Trump just doesn't give a shit. He didn't even want to suspend the Jones Act until he got pressured into doing it (he wanted to protect the $$ of the shippers).
