(38,436 posts)could say something like this in public.. He really doesn't know how stupid and insensitive he sounds.
welllllllll he is stupid!!!....got to add another word...............He is very stupid..
Protesting ain't new...everyone has their own way. So Trump gets involved in something he knows nothing about, and should leave alone. But rather than "leave it alone"..he has got to see himself at the top...so he uses language that is.."inappropriate"..............................but...........................................
he doesn't know..how "stupid" he sounds using that language....why?...because he is .very stupid

(16,079 posts)It's the simple fact that he doesn't care, there is a difference!

(38,436 posts)Why get into such a meaningless discussion? Using language that is "inappropriate"...Now I do know he doesn't care..what people think..........I get that....but to use the office of the Presidency ...to go into a discussion like this..................in my opinion is....very stupid
Immediately he sets up a discussion about protesting....and a person's right to protest. and all that...Perhaps it is just a diversion away from the other stupid things he has said and done....
......................................................................................................oh well..

(38,436 posts)Less and less people support him. More and more see the stupidity of him....
Yes, 25 percent will always support him..but when it gets that low, (and it will) ..then the other 75 percent will be willing to impeach him.. And that means he has lost the support of the nation. I know he doesn't care on any level.. But that will be a time, after indictments and other "resignations"..that it will be time for him...
"to resign". Perhaps I am totally wrong. But that time is coming. Mueller is still investigating....
When the extent of the investigation becomes public, (and it will become public, of course).. it will be very ugly for Trump and his family.

Before we get to whatever it is that President Trump is on about, here, here is something that happens to be true: by many measures, Colin Kaepernick is a more prolific philanthropist than Donald Trump.

(13,186 posts)I agree with Kaepernick that the country oppresses minorities, of course. I just don't see how his trying to convey that by not standing for the national anthem isn't idiotic and counterproductive. Kaepernick is letting Trump, a consummate asshole, eat our lunch on this issue.

(13,186 posts)Kaepernick is absolutely right that there is oppression of minorities in this country, and it needs to be fought. The way he is doing it is completely wrong. The net effect is a huge backfire. Trump and the very worst of his supporters are reaping huge benefits from Kaepernick.

(13,186 posts)Parks moved the cause of civil rights a giant leap forward. No just person could fail to see she was in the right to keep her seat.
Imagine if Parks had kept her seat but also pulled out a U.S. flag and wiped her nose with it. She might have explained that it was just a piece of cloth to her, because it represented a country where blacks were forced to sit in the back of buses. If she had done that, people who wanted to defend her and side with her on her right to equal treatment would not have.

(5,272 posts)for centuries now have been expected to stand for the pledge of allegiance and respect the flag that has oppressed them, and it is totally justified to make a stand with a gesture of not doing so. It is a legitimate means of protest that required him to put his career on the line. It gives the issue visibility. Sometimes controversy is good. Sometimes it starts conversations. I've had conversations with people because of Kaeperick and BLM and asked them to give me alternative actions that wouldn't have been largely missed or ignored by most Americans. They've failed in every case to offer up an idea.
No, Trump is not eating our lunch on this issue. He's just spewing to his tiny base.

(629 posts)If everywhere Trump went all the protesters simply took a knee? Imagine thousands taking a knee in quiet protest to the injustice our people have suffered and to the injustice of Trump and this whole government we now have.
Oh well, just a thought...
