Report: No Big Five News Networks Want Spicer Because Of 'Lack Of Credibility'

By NICOLE LAFOND Published SEPTEMBER 20, 2017 12:38 PM

While it’s been reported that CNN and Fox News won’t hire former White House press secretary Sean Spicer as a paid contributor, NBC News confirmed Tuesday that the other three of the big five — ABC, NBC and CBS — won’t be offering Spicer a contract either.

And it’s all because of a “lack of credibility,” several network insiders told NBC.

Since he left the White House, Spicer has been seeking a contributor position at one of the networks, but executives “won’t touch him,” an executive familiar with the conversations told NBC.

Some have considered bringing Spicer on the air for “round tables,” but a contract “is not happening,” the executive said.

A person familiar with Spicer’s conversations with the news outlets said that conversations were still ongoing and claimed that Spicer may not even want a contract so he has the freedom to work with several networks.

I wonder how much control Colbert had over that? I'm also thinking Colbert is aware of how poorly that Spicer skit went over. Normalizing Holocaust deniers is really really low.

I want Spicer welded into a small steel box and stood in a dark corner of an abandoned warehouse. I never want to see or hear from that asshole again.

And yet a not-small number of people have been laughing it up, delighted with his madcap, self-deprecating antics.

Fuck that. He's horrible and should never be normalized.

If he wants to be welcomed into the limelight, let him spill the beans on Trump in some verifiable and damning manner. Otherwise, fuck him.

Since it merely positions those mega-lies and doesn't actually concoct them.

Lordy presents a uniquely telling deer-in-the-headlights response whenever confronted with a shred of truth. The fact that he is (for a right[winger) unusually mild-mannered does little to conceal the fakery of his arguments.

. . . the 7-corporation-owned media turning Sean Spicer down for lack of credibility . . . even though they played a huge role in getting his ex-boss elected.

I wouldn't be able to watch a network that featured him regularly.

The media tour was cute (I didn't watch but I've heard and seen snippets), but now it's time to GO AWAY, you trump enabling clown!

Why? Because you still have not taken responsibility for the lying. You're still covering for the worst, most incompetent person to ever be elected prez.

When you're ready to tell the truth, the whole truth, and nothing but the truth, we can revisit this conversation. Until then, WE DO NOT LIKE YOU and we don't want to hear from you.
