I kind of wondered how a "struggling" wannabe singer-songwriter could afford those wheels (unless her rich lawyer daddy bought it for her).

"Photographs of a Porsche-driving lawyer's daughter who shot a homeless man twice claiming she was in fear of her life appear on a website where she is described as a stripper and $800-an-hour escort.
Katie Layne Quackenbush, 26, has been charged with attempted murder for shooting 54-year-old Gerald Melton twice on August 26 at 3am near Nashville's Music Row.
...
The woman's former fiancé has also come forward after learning of her arrest in the news and says he is not the least bit surprised by it.
'This is just like, completely in her character. This really doesn't surprise me at all. This sounds just like her,' Ian McGrath said in a YouTube video.
......
McGrath said she also had a $2.5million trust fund which he said she would only have access to if she had no felony convictions.".....(more)

(13,081 posts)There's nothing worse about her job than most people's jobs. It's sure as shit not our place to judge.
She's a horrible piece of shit for shooting someone, not her occupation.

(82,849 posts)But my original response was to someone who said it was not our place to judge, so wouldn't that apply to her family as well?

(7,681 posts)Which implies her father knew different. I'm just saying he likely didn't.
As to judging, no you shouldn't shame sex workers, but beyond that I'm not really sure what you're getting at with your question.

(82,849 posts)And by "limited," I mean incredibly misleading. Whether that was intentional on Dad's part, that I don't know. But Dad made it sound like his daughter with the itchy trigger finger and the trust fund and the Porsche was Ani DiFranco or something.

(111,339 posts)is expected to survive, would be a very long sentence for atttempted murder, release occurring when she can no longer get by on her looks and she can experience being poor without her trust fund.
And there is no worse curse to put on anybody but poverty. I've been there.

(80,708 posts)However, there is something very weird about the photos in that story. I don't mean the cross-eyed mugshot, the other one. It looks like her head is photoshopped on a body way too small.
It's freakish.

(11,481 posts)That wouldn't have been a part of the condition of the trust fund IMO unless Diddy thought that would have been an incentive to stay out of trouble.

(21,852 posts)I have never heard of such a condition. Whoever created the trust knew her criminal tendencies and wrote the trust in a way to give an incentive to stay on the straight and narrow. Didn't work.

(2,001 posts)Then went and had breakfast with her friend like nothing happened. When they returned to retrieve the friends car is when she was identified. After a little reading seems this babes got quite a colorful past, Not to mention she was arrested for beating the shit out of her MOTHER with serious injuries. Well, she will probably get away with what she deserves but I don't see her getting out of this without a felony conviction though. Just a thought..What if a BLACK man in TEXAS did this? Would the bail be 25,000? That's just sex with a dozen or so for this gal.

(50,562 posts)No jury in the world would convict someone for shooting to death a crazy woman who got out of her car with murder in her eyes and a gun in her hand. It would be surprising if charges were filed.

(34,447 posts)Sociopath will be free to continue her reign of terror unimpeded, trust fund intact. I really hope I'm wrong, but this is just the sort of case that makes people hate the (in)justice system
