However I also believe that Cheeto cares about his children, and maybe his "legacy." He can go for broke, as you say, but that means his kids will get nothing when he dies.

More likely he won't want to forfeit his property, cash and assets, (as penalties for his crimes) just so he can leave something to his family. Am I being too rational? agencies have been canceling their reservation s left and right for the past few months.

Happily, Kushner is in exactly the same boat. And his efforts to monetize being Trump's son-in-law have failed.
