He pulled the country out of the Great Depression which was a very low time in our history, created jobs for millions with his infrastructure programs, created social programs like Social Security and the New Deal which benefitted the little people. He first kept us out of WWII and then went in and won WWII. So it's understandable that when the country is well on it's way to the most prosperous time in its history people would re-elect him again.

Trump, on the other hand is dead set on destroying all of it. Everything he touches is the opposite of the Midas touch. It all turns to putrid rot and sinks us lower into economic doom. Why would anyone not interrupt his mid stream?

However I also believe that Cheeto cares about his children, and maybe his "legacy." He can go for broke, as you say, but that means his kids will get nothing when he dies.

More likely he won't want to forfeit his property, cash and assets, (as penalties for his crimes) just so he can leave something to his family. Am I being too rational? That's what a rational person would want. Eventually his lawyers or somebody will convince Cheeto he's better off if he resigns and gets out without going to jail.

He is passionate about Ivanka. Other family members maybe not so much.
It will interesting at what point he sacrifices her to save his own ass, cause he only runs on basic instincts.

He is also broke.
His "assets" are worth some value on paper, they are heavily mortgaged. He has been living on rolled over loans, dancing about 2 steps ahead of repayment dates, by getting new loans
which is now almost impossible, as various banks have stopped trusting him.
He stopped putting $$$ into his infamous Foundation in 2012. Now it has been prevented from giving out any more money while it is under investigation, which is too bad, cause he was paying bills from it.
That is why he created his 2020 campaign, so he could use PAC money for personal use. Illegal, but since when has he let that bother him?
Mar-Lego threw off some income, from high member's dues, and renting it out to big corporations. Those corporations and
agencies have been canceling their reservation s left and right for the past few months.

Happily, Kushner is in exactly the same boat. And his efforts to monetize being Trump's son-in-law have failed.

He is financially and politically at an endgame now.

you have the best music. my one week spent there never met a soul who wasn't lovely and a pleasure.

I had a Jamaican boyfriend for a minute back in the day (like 2003) and he told me Kingston was the murder capital of the world. I just looked that up, it was true in 2005. In LA, CA on 54th and Crenshaw, he knew a kid called E-Dee (just looked him up he's still around) who was a reggae/rap artist and just basically had a shop set up on the street there. I bought his CD and a movie called Shottas. I think the man i was seeing had come from that atmosphere. he was rough i think.

But is it really as crazy and extreme has the US has turned? I don't recognize my country anymore. I don't see a bright future for my grandchildren, and it's not just Trump, it's most if not all of the republicans. They're killing us and don't even seem to get that they'll go down too. it's so bad.

anyway, that's just fantasy. how am i to make a living there? Besides which my children would not come too, so a fantasy it will remain.
