Guess he was to tired from loading 3 boxes and a case of water in a pick up truck during his photo Op.

(42,641 posts)I am certain that Pat Robertson or another right wing minister will be saying that the fire is evidence that God is angry at California.
PS.
I am certain that the boxes and the water bottles were empty.
for both points

(83,945 posts)I thought the boxes were empty as well...still looked like he was huffing and puffing to load them just the same. The man ain't well in more ways than one.

(42,641 posts)Even considering his age, he looks terrible and moves even worse.
PS. And before there are any accusations of ageism, I am 66.
I am soon to be 65. No ageism on my part when I say I want a younger person running for President or any other office.

(83,945 posts)I will vote for the best candidate. There are some excellent younger people out there WITH ability and politics for many of the positions that are opening up. There are in fact good solid women out there...I did an OP about them the other night. It stated reasons why a woman would make the better candidate for all positions. Women tend to be more focused on all the issues and not just a narrow few. Women speak to more people as was evidenced in Hillary's popular vote.
Please do not rule us out. I believe we are the future in politics.

(42,390 posts)He has said not a word about the sailors killed last week, or indeed any service member who has died on his watch. Nothing to families in TX or elsewhere who have lost loved ones to disasters.
He is a heartless monster.

(83,945 posts)Not one word from any of them in the tragedies that have occurred. Probably to busy counting all the money they are fleecing from the American people.
They are all the most pathetic excuses for human beings.

(14,496 posts)Unless one of his properties is affected. I don't think he has an ounce of sympathy or empathy in him.
I've thought all along that he has some feeder minions that create his Tweets that show compassion, but only when it's politically expedient. Trump just hits the "send" button.
I also have the same suspicion about his other Tweets. Far too many of them just don't seem to fit what typically comes out of his brain. They may even have subcontracted his Tweet creation to the Heritage Foundation or some secret group at Faux News.
Horrific fire and I hope we find the Feds are supporting it 100%.

(14,496 posts)Thank you for the welcome, sheshe2. Been looking for a good place to vent and share my anger, fears and thoughts for quite a while. I love the format here.
It was a long hard winter mentally having to watch tRump and his criminal gang on all my news outlets every day, so this place has been a big relief to me. Looking forward to sharing here quite often, so long as I'm able!

(42,779 posts)But the LA wildfires are absolutely tiny by comparison to many many other wildfires.
See, for example, the 2007 wildfires in California that burned hundreds of thousands of acres and killed 9 people.

(51,638 posts)We already hate him with the intensity of a million fires. Yesterday a stranger at a store in San Diego took a photo of my hand made earrings to show her daughter (a picture of him behind bars with "lock him up" across his ugly face). I could sell a lot of them, and my pins and bumper stickers, since we HATE him with such passion!

(9,538 posts)It has burned around 5,900 acres. While that may be one of LA's biggest fires, it's small compared to many others in CA history.
Here is San Diego, the 2003 Cedar Fire burned 280,000 acres, burned over 2,500 structures, injured 112 people and killed 15. That was the worst fire in CA history. We also had the second worst, the 2007 firestorms, in which a half million people were evacuated.
By contrast, around 700 were evacuated last night and only 3 homes burned, last I heard. There is some rain today and firefighters expect to get this one under control in 3 or 4 days, hopefully without more devastating losses; it's mostly burning dry, brushy hills.
Gov. Brown has declared a state emergency and FEMA has granted the Governor's request for federal help to fight the fire.
While it would've been nice to hear some concern from the POS president, at this point, unless there are significantly higher losses, while the images are dramatic this is not a disaster anywhere close to the scale of what happened in Houston, or even other fires burning elsewhere in the West or even some in Northern California.
That's good, because of course California is solidly Democratic and could well fare far worse than a red state like Texas under the Trump administration.
But it's not a fair comparison between LA's La Tuna Fire and the hurricane/flood damage in Houston, which I'm hearing was the worst natural disaster in U.S. history and more costly to recover from than Hurricanes Katrina and Sandy combined.

(15,363 posts)Do you see how to deal with "red" states when you're in the majority?
Do you see how Retrumplicans govern even if they only have a one seat majority in the states?
Did you see what Kasich did when he initially won by 1 percentage point?
Did you see what Walker did in WI with a slim majority win?
Can you tell me why there is even ONE Retrumplican in the California Congressional delegation? Why is there even one Retrumplican in Congress From Oregon or Washington state?
Pay the fuck attention dumbasses. Retrumplicans aren't trying to "work" with you. They'll fucking destroy you, even if they have a 50.2 to 49.8 majority.
Maybe you should grow up and win some elections.
