I said "more offensive" in that it is about selling slaves and sending them down the river. Seriously. Some people have actually tried to push the line that the song is actually anti-slavery. But it isn't and never was.

(100,079 posts)I hear the same thing about Blazing Saddles. Yeah they could get away with making that movie today. But here's the thing - the internet outrage machine would be pissed about it for a day, then they'll move on to the next thing the internet tells them to get angry at. That is a problem with our throw away culture that we live in - even our outrages only last a day or two!
