In that neighborhood, why did she need a gun?
That area is a crime area about as much as the moon!

But it's their justification for arming up, adding to their gun caches and even acquiring body armor.

Very sorry for this family.

The mom and dad had divorced, and for some reason the Dad had custody......

I was talking to the mom on a Saturday and she was so thrilled....she now had full custody of her two daughters,
and she had spent the last two weeks creating the room in her apartment where they would live.

She was going to get them back on Monday. She got a call Sunday night....her ex-husband had sealed up his house with plastic
and created a hose to channel the exhaust fumes into the house and her ex and the two kids died.

That's creepy!
Sorry for your friends
At least I didn't know these people and me and my wife haven't lived there for more than 35 years
(We only live 25 miles away! Not like we moved to Antarctica)

was just about the cruelest life event imaginable.

The combination of anger and sadness that she must have felt is almost incomprehensible to me.

I didn't really know them. I knew people who knew them, and that Saturday was the only time that I had ever talked to her.
I had never met her ex or her kids.
