Diane Feinstein doesnt deserve another chance....

As far as I’m concerned..I live in cali and I hope she is challanged in 2018..

There is absolutely no excuse for her statements defending Trump with regards to Harvey..
“He could be a good President” "We must have patience”..

This type of moderate behavior in this frightening hour for our country.. Is just so fucked up !!

The leader of California's state Senate on Wednesday sharply criticized a call from Sen. Dianne Feinstein for "patience" with President Trump, suggesting it was tantamount to being "complicit" in his behavior.

The comments by Senate President Pro Tem Kevin de León (D-Los Angeles) offer a glimpse into the vastly different approaches by two leading California Democrats to Trump's first few months in office.

"It is the responsibility of Congress to hold him accountable — especially Democrats, not be complicit in his reckless behavior," de León said in a written statement, first reported by San Francisco's KQED public radio.

Feinstein, who spoke Tuesday night at the Commonwealth Club in San Francisco, was booed by the crowd after saying she still thinks he can be a "good president." She went on to suggest a pause before passing judgment in the wake of how Trump will have to handle Hurricane Harvey

And this firestorm over what she said is silly beyond belief. What she voiced was the possibility Asshole could turn it around and be a decent president.

While most of us realize the possibility is slim, very, very slim, it's there.

So take some deep breaths, let your blood pressure fall, and try to realize she didn't say anything as tacky as people here are pretending she did.

...will start over at the bottom. Needless to say, that person could be a Republican.

California is not all "blue," and never has been. Both Richard Nixon and Ronald Reagan came out of California. Just a few miles inland, we have conservatives and right wingers out the wazoo.

Folks who think Calexit is a swell idea have just gotten permission to hire people to gather signatures on petitions to put this idiotic notion on the ballot next year. It's financed by the same people who brought us Brexit -- i.e. the Russians.

So just what California and the nation needs is a great brawling wounding primary battle for Diane Feinstein's seat.

The Senator is 80 or so. She could retire soon and surprise us. Or she could stay on for another term, doing the same work she's been doing all her life, which has been more than acceptable.

criteria of being "progressive" enough

She signed onto a Single Payer bill yesterday, and,of those bashers seem not to be as antagonistic toward her as they were last week.

The problem isn't that one disagrees with someone's position on something, it is that some of these folks take it a step further, and go out of their way, and bash and name call fellow elected Democrats, and the only purpose that serves is to divide the party.

California has been a consistent blue state, and we have been electing good solid Democratic Senators for years. That cannot be said for other states, such as in 2016, where every Democrat running for Senate in those critical swing states, lost to the "incumbent, establishment, republican".

47% of eligible voters didn't bother to vote, and I cannot help but think that the undermining, distortions, and outright bullshit, such as, "there is no difference between the republican and Democratic party", or "the Democrats need to give us a reason to vote for them", had some impact.

Obviously, for some of these folks the Supreme Court wasn't reason enough. Civil Rights weren't reason enough. Workers rights weren't reason enough, women's rights weren't reason enough, environmental rights weren't reason enough", etc.

I suggest you might at least ask before you start making dumb assertions.

What was the exact” lie” .. How did I slander.. Obviously you won’t be able answer.

Plus there are many who agree with me on this thread.

Suggest you read the whole thread before you jump to conclusions.....Sad!

Suggest you read her entire comment before calling for her head. You left out some important "ifs" and other words.

Do you think we should primary Bernie or is he excused when his comments contained no such qualifiers?

Sad!

The only thing obvious is the double standard. Old white men get pass after pass while we see a plethora of attacks against female Democrats. Feinstein. Pelosi. Harris. And the one who got no passes at all from the same attackers, Hillary.

Women in the party are sick of it. Expect us to call it out more and more even though you think *cough* many *cough* agree with you.

Barking up the wrong tree with me on this one..

there still are a lot of great Dem Women out there... I woukd go all in on Baldwin or Harris..

2 Female Repubs.. are the reason we don’t have Trumpcare..

If any male slipped like Feinstein did.. I would have been on their butts...twice as hard,

86. There have been plenty of men saying it outright. Not "slipped". Bernie for one.

What this is about, is knee jerk reactions to a portion of what someone said. It's been pointed out to you repeatedly that you omitted most of her statement. Then you go on an ageist rant as well.

So were you on Bernie's butt twice as hard?

I'm just saying, perhaps you should reread her words. The whole statement.

that California no longer has party primaries for anything other than president.

If Feinstein runs next year she'll be in an open primary with 30-50 other people, some of whom many identify themselves by party. The top two vote getters in June will go on to battle it out in November. Last time we saw two Democrats: next time it can be two Republicans, especially if the people behind the scenes manage to stir up enough dissention about Feinstein that Democrats split their votes among a half dozen people.

I would love to know what transpired during that briefing. I have a feeling that her words might make more sense if we had known. Still, it's not inspiring a lot of faith in me as far as she is concerned.
