I haven't heard of them preaching on this. I would think there would be references to The Flood, since that was supposedly God's punishment for sin. Those preachers certainly think US has spent the last decades 'turning away from God.'

(14,494 posts)You can bet there will be some bigly fire & brimstone preachin', and serious repentin' too. Where's that fleet of arks for Houston when we need it? I would NOT want to be a Texas preacher having to go through all this.
Seriously, putting my blasphemy and irreverence aside, we do appreciate all the churches, schools, and other large facilities in TX and other states that are opening their doors for victims of this horrific tragedy. We're seeing a massive outpouring of brotherly love from folks in all walks of life.

SHUT THE FUCK UP!
Yup! That's it.
But I suspect that they'll just find another scapegoat. OMG! The gays and the transgendered!!!

(12,858 posts)The religious right preachers are totally focussed on the 'anti-God' existence of gays and transgender people.
Even if you're in an Evangelical church, you'd think that there are only 6+ verses in OT and NT that can be stretched to be interpreted as God condemning gays would give you pause.
