Unbelieveable,,,,,,,!!!

4th largest metro city in the country and they don't have plan to evacuate the city, mainly because the State GOP Leadership has refused to spend the money necessary to build the road infrastructure needed move 6.5 million people away from the city on the Gulf coast. It not a matter of if a bad storm is going to hit Houston, it just a matter of when. GOP leadership has never provided for the people.

Houston is huge. I've been through plenty of evacuations from large hurricanes with 3 days warnings from much smaller population density areas and it's a nightmare.

No city in Florida is up to the population levels of Houston. Miami, Tampa, Orlando are smaller sized and even they can't evacuate in a short period of time.

Sorry, you are wrong.

is that high in areas prone to massive flooding, there really isn't a lot to be done. God forbid the zoning board refuses issuing building permits. Then everybody would be screaming about government telling them what they can do. We can't have it both ways. We build where we want and expect the government to bail out asses out.

The country flood control district has a long list of projects they want to do. The only thing holding them back is funding.

You think Manhatten could evacuate quickly? 6.5 million people just do not pick up and move. And where would they go. And when do they start? Any time a tropical storm is within 3 days? Hell, many cities would be evacuated 2-3 times a year. If they started on Wednesday those interstate would be full of families in traffic jams when they flooded. In Rita over 100 died many as a result of trying to evacuate.

Houston is a Democratic control city. If politicians are at fault do they get a pass?

Have a nice evening.
