Kid Rocks flirtation with a Senate bid has Republicans thinking he could be the party's best shot to win next year's race against Sen. Debbie Stabenow (D-Mich.).
The rock star real name Robert Ritchie would likely dominate the primary field if he entered the race and comes within striking distance of the Democratic incumbent in recent polling.
While most Republicans still believe a bid is unlikely, they are enticed by the prospect of a candidate with deep pockets and universal name identification.
People know him hes an extremely strong brand in Michigan. Hes fought for Detroit, hes fought hard for kids who want to go to his concerts, hes fought hard for the working class, hes a southeast Michigan booster through and through, said Robert Steele, the Republican national committeeman from Michigan. If he were in the race, I think he would win. But I doubt well see him in the race.

(796 posts)and Kid Rock is their king. i see it happening with no problem should he truly run. and even with all the bullshit occurring, the Dems are struggling to get a message going that even means anything! so, yeah, i could see that.

In February 2005, Rock was charged with assault on DJ Jay Campos in 'Christies Cabaret' strip club. He pleaded no contest and was sued for $575,000 by Campos.[41] Rock was charged with assault on Mötley Crüe drummer Tommy Lee at MTV's 2007 Video Music Awards, he pleaded guilty.[42] In October 2007, Rock was involved in a brawl at a Waffle House in Atlanta, Georgia, and charged with simple battery.[43][44] He pleaded nolo contendere ("no contest" ) to one count, was fined $1,000, required to perform 80 hours of community service and complete a six-hour course on anger management.[45]
In January 2015, Rock was criticized by fans and animal rights activists for killing a cougar while on a hunting trip. Fellow rocker Ted Nugent defended this incident, calling this action "necessary", "legal" and "beneficial".[46]
Sex tape
Kid Rock and Scott Stapp, singer of the band Creed, appear in a sex tape from 1999 in which the two are seen partying and receiving oral sex.[47] California pornography company Red Light District planned to release the tape in 2006, but both Rock and Stapp filed with the California courts to sue Red Light District and stop the tape's distribution.[48]
