Arpaio, 85, hints at run for office: 'I've got a big political message to get out'

Arpaio, 85, hints at run for office: 'I've got a big political message to get out'
Amy B. Wang Washington Post Aug 26 2017

Shortly after receiving a pardon from President Donald Trump, former Arizona sheriff Joe Arpaio hinted to local reporters he might return to politics.

Arpaio told the Associated Press he wouldn't rule out running for office again, saying he would be "very active" politically, even at age 85. He had the same message for the state's largest newspaper.

"I told my wife I don't want nothing to do with politics, but now I've got to rethink that," Arpaio told the Arizona Republic. "I think I've got a big political message to get out."

Arpaio had been convicted last month of criminal contempt of court for ignoring a federal judge's order to stop detaining people based on their perceived immigration status. He had faced up to six months in prison at his sentencing, originally set for Oct. 5.

"I told my wife I don't want nothing to do with politics".

We already know he's racist, so what other message is there?

The backlash against arpaios abuses is huge.

Please run again. That will just bring more attention to the crimes of Arpaio and Trump and the past decades of GOP hatemongering.

Throw the book at him...and make him testify for months on end...have him answer EVERY charge levied against him in his entire career. Make taking that ill-gotten pardon from Assface the worst thing in his miserable life. Then televise his heart attack and make sure there are people present to yell at him for faking it...
