My daughter was in an excellent summer camp program and the day before school started they took a trip to Chicago as a reward for being potential future leaders and mostly for being good kids.
She asked me earlier today if I knew that there was a Trump building up there and I told her that yes I did. She then told me that when they passed the Trump building all the kids booed. So as long as my daughter doesn't get deported and the little AA kids don't get thrown in concentration camps, er, jail, er... Anyway I think there is hope for the future if we can survive that long. Rock on youngsters.

(38,449 posts)I was told by my parents, before I was 12 or 13, some of the crooked tricks Nixon pulled. I heard that he was a liar and evil. In 1960 he was up all night watching to see if Nixon lost...In 62, he said he was done running for office, but in 68 he did run and won. It is not unusual for kids to know the truth about these crooks..
Trump has lied about so many things, so many times. That conversation in the bus where he admits to abusing women, well that is on the internet. Parents have told their kids about what an abuser he is. Yes, I have hope for the future..and I do think we can survive that long...

(67,782 posts)....to remember Art Linkletter, but he did a segment on his show called "Kids say the darndest things".
He was really likable and popular on his show, but of course that was before anyone thought about the politics of celebrities. Turns out he was a staunch Reaganite and very conservative. Politically he wasn't very likable at all.

(14,811 posts)I remember one time he had kids on with pictures they drew from Sunday School. One little boy had a picture of a 2 seater airplane with an obvious Jesus (with a halo) in the rear seat. Art asked him "Who is that in the front?" Without missing a beat the kid said, "Pontius the pilot".
