Sat in my closet for hours during cat 4 hurricane down here in fla ..completely destroyed both houses next to me, mine faired better. Without power and water for 10 days. Worse thing ever.. so my
Thoughts are with Texas tonight

so sorry you had to go through that intense misery!!

Which storm was that - sounds like Andrew? Charley? Ivan? Houses destroyed on either side of you - yeah, that was a wicked one. ???

The surge and rain coming into TX are just gonna blow our minds, omg. And it will never end (5 days? Wtf?!) - - And people are partying in Galveston tonight, per TWC...alls I can figure is, each new generation has to personally find out that these storms will kill you without blinking an eye(wall) - (sorry, couldn't help myself there)

But really, which storm were you in, Blues?

took that surprise juke east and just wasted poor Punta Gorda - I know storms can be unpredictable, but Charley surprised EVERYone involved, eh, with virtually no heads up...

siblings and I just LOVED IT!! We were evacuated to some barracks, got to stay up late, spent the next day (extremely well protected; those pre-WWII barracks were built to last!) watching roofs flying around, trees falling over...quite the intense and very fun adventure for us youngsters!! We've all been "into" hurricanes as a result of that time -

(Yeah, we weren't holed up in a closet fearing for our safety, right, else our life-long feelings about cyclones would have been verrrry different!!)
