(13,527 posts)so sorry you had to go through that intense misery!!
Which storm was that - sounds like Andrew? Charley? Ivan? Houses destroyed on either side of you - yeah, that was a wicked one. ???
The surge and rain coming into TX are just gonna blow our minds, omg. And it will never end (5 days? Wtf?!) - - And people are partying in Galveston tonight, per TWC...alls I can figure is, each new generation has to personally find out that these storms will kill you without blinking an eye(wall) - (sorry, couldn't help myself there)
But really, which storm were you in, Blues?

(13,527 posts)took that surprise juke east and just wasted poor Punta Gorda - I know storms can be unpredictable, but Charley surprised EVERYone involved, eh, with virtually no heads up...
Again, thank you, and again, glad you survived!!

(13,527 posts)siblings and I just LOVED IT!! We were evacuated to some barracks, got to stay up late, spent the next day (extremely well protected; those pre-WWII barracks were built to last!) watching roofs flying around, trees falling over...quite the intense and very fun adventure for us youngsters!! We've all been "into" hurricanes as a result of that time -
(Yeah, we weren't holed up in a closet fearing for our safety, right, else our life-long feelings about cyclones would have been verrrry different!!)
