Oh my God, I was just watching the Weather Channel and they DID say to use a Sharpie!

(29,876 posts)6. Actually when I lived on Trinity Bay near Galveston and we had a big one churning in the
gulf, Gilbert iirc, the Chambers Country sheriff went door to door and in fact was offering the use of his sharpie for those deciding yo stay.
We bailed out however the storm went inland way south of us and could have stay. Nothing but about 2ft
of storm surge on the property. House was built on pilings 12ft up so other than debris in the yard...no harm done.

Landfall is 4 hours away and cars are already underwater. It is probably to late now to leave.

If their car got flooded out while they were a good distance from home may heaven help them.

In 2017 they can turn on the television and see exactly what is coming.
