I texted the above entitled opinion piece to my family this morning. One of my sons responded by texting "How depressing." I myself don't think his sad expression of nostalgia is enough. We really need Obama to speak out -- and forcefully. This country really can't just lie there in a stupor bemoaning its fate, while Trump wields his wrecking ball.

Obama speaking out will just give Trump a target to blame.

Obama is smart enough to know speaking out will just take attention/blame away from Trump.
