Some Solar Panel News Near Me



In NW Florida Panhandle----

".. two other solar facilities at the Eglin Air Force Base and Naval Air Station Whiting Field’s (NOLF) Holley Field became operational earlier this summer. All three combined will have aboout 1.5 million solar panels capable of generating up to 120 megawatts of electricity, enough energy to power nearly 18,000 homes annually"

The military has a lot of real estate that could be used for solar farms without impacting military missions.

Long time ago people saw smokestacks as a sign of progress. This is no different.

Alberta Tar Sands mining site to see real dead zones. Ones that pollute everything downstream from the actual site of operation.

I'll take the solar alternative.

I also understand there was a study done about putting a wind farm on Lake Erie which will be able to power a quarter of the United States households. I'll take that over fossil fuel electricity generation any day.

Not wanting to argue, but I haven't seen any solar spills lately. Have you?

I live in a city that has rapidly increasing areas of solar power on rooftops, parking lots, and land severely damaged by previous industrial activity.

Large scale developments on biologically diverse lands are obscene. For the amount of power these large scale solar installations will produce over the life of the solar panels, and for the toxic waste generated in the manufacture of the solar panels, they are fully equivalent to strip mining.
