The nuclear "button" and Trump, how do you feel ?

When President Obama was in office, I never fretted for one nanosecond about him pushing that "button".

Hell, when ANY President (even Nixon and GWB) was in office, I never fretted.

With Trump.... I know the probability of him pushing that button is very very low but....

Have you any twinges of discomfort about that ?

I get the distinct impression that he believes we should nuke somebody. Like he wants to prove he's "strong," and if lobbing a nuke will help, he'll do it. If given the chance.

It's why, though I am generally anti-war, I really don't want to see the US go to war under Donny Two-Scoops. He reminds me of Sonny from The Godfather, but without the cool head.

I can see him in a fit of rage doing it. He has this profane heated argument with the leader of North Korea on the secure line (if that's even possible with North Korea, I don't know) and calls the Pentagon to do it. I do not trust him at all with it.

I always knew President Obama would just calm down, no matter how angry he got, and think rationally. Trump, I don't know.

It's definitely a worry. I last felt this way back in the early 80's, when I was a teenager, and we were still in the grip of Mutual Assured Destruction, and movies like Wargames (good), Red Dawn (not so good) and Defcon 4 (really, really not good) were current.

It's nostalgic, but not in a good way.

Can't explain it. Maybe I've been watching too much The Walking Dead.

As far as being worried about him actually pushing it, it's probably more productive for me to worry how I'm going to spend my Mega Lotto winnings... and I don't even play the lottery. Basically, I'm not worried at all.
