6. That overfishing toon is dead on.

I was a trawl fisherman in the Bering Sea at the start of the Americanization of the fleet in 1987, only two factory trawlers so far, we delivered to one.

100 metric tons per day, easy, two years later 200+ boats were fishing, the stocks vanished, I quit and went back to a shore job.

A few years ago I saw a series following a small trawler, they pulled back a net with 15 tons in it, and they acted like it was Christmas, fish had dissapeared.

They are essentially vacuuming up the bottom to find fish, they've been doing that since day one with bottom nets designed to drag up everything.

You have no idea how close that toon is to the truth, I was there and saw it coming.

And that was 30 years ago.
