Brainstorming! How would you (as a Republican) try to talk Trump into resigning?

How would you try to convince Trump? How does he think? What makes him tick?

I think, his main motivators are being adored, being respected. I think, he's mortally afraid of being laughed at.
If Trump were to resign, he would see this as losing, as being less of a President than Obama. People would lose respect for him.

My pitch would be that his resignation would break Washington-gridlock.
The Democrats, and some republican traitors, keep blocking his agenda.
The problem is their irrational and stupid hatred for him.
They cannot see his genius! They cannot see his vision! They don't respect that he had the biggest Electoral College-victory ever! They are fake news and they hate him!
And nothing will change about that.

(Now, it will help my argument, if the Democrats do well in the 2018-midterms.)

Well, looks like we're in for even more gridlock.
Your whole agenda, your brillant ideas blocked.
What a pity! What a shame!
If only there were some way to expose the insane blockade of the Democrats...
You know, the media won't do that for you, they are fake news...
No, you're gonna need a grand gesture...
A grand gesture that will unveil and destroy all their excuses and fake news and rumors...
Something drastic that will prove that the Democrats have no good reason for blocking your legacy, for blocking the Trump-Wall and the Trump Infrastructure Initiative...
Something that will shame them into supporting your idea...

How far are you willing to go?
I mean...
Imagine a great sacrifice that will shame the Democrats into voting for the Trump-Wall and for the Trump Infrastructure Initiative.
We can expose them.
We can expose them that they hate you personally, that even they cannot deny that your ideas are fantastic and great.
We can expose their hollow and ridiculous hatred for you, if we take the focus away from you as a person and move it fully to the legacy your Presidency will leave behind, the Trump-Wall and the Trump Infrastructure Initiative.
This is not about you. This is about what you have done for America.

I... I just got an idea...
Now, hear me out. We want to pass your legislation, right?
And we know that no sane person can find any flaws in your ideas, right?
So, what if we put on a grand show where you sacrifice yourself for your ideas?
A grand gesture on the national stage.
Never happened before in US history.
No other President had the guts to risk it all.
"President Donald Trump, he stepped down, to protect his legacy from further damage."
"President Donald Trump, who exposed the sickness and hatred of the Democrats."
"President Donald Trump, who saved the US from gridlock by sacrificing himself."
"President Donald Trump, he was the martyr who got the US back on track."

Think about it:
You step down as President, so the Republicans can push your agenda through Congress.
And without the Democrats' hatred for you as an excuse, they have no choice but to judge your ideas on their merits and we all know that your ideas are fantastic.
And you would supervise the whole process from the outside.
And once the Trump-Wall and the Trump Infrastructure Initiative have been passed, you return as President in 2020.

on restoring Democracy. the Republicans are not going to restore democracy-so we have an open field if we decide to be principled.

then offer a pardon in exchange for resignation; that's the only way they're going to talk him into quitting.

You've done great things for the American people. The jobs increase has been amazing, probably the best ever in the history of the US if not the world. You blew those climate-changers out of the water by getting us out of the Paris agreement, the stupidest thing ever signed by any American. Big time. And you bombed the sh*t out of Syria and showed them who's boss. What more can you possibly do? And for real, do you really want to live in that dump of a concrete house for the next three years at least. In Washington, no less? You know Washington is no New York. It's government housing, Donald. You're better than that. The people love you right now. What better time to return to New York where you have a comfortable home and don't have to listen to the fake news whine every time you want to take a much deserved vacation in Florida. Thank about it, Donald.
