Just heard a clip, CNN guy, at close of rally..
"What we just witnessed was a total eclipse of the facts.
Someone who came out on stage and lied directly to the american people".
.............
The whole country is turning against him. He lost the LA Times, the NY Time, WaPo, tv news.....
Been here before.........I remember...
There's something happening here
What it is ain't exactly clear
There's a man with a gun over there
Telling me I got to beware
I think it's time we stop, children, what's that sound
Everybody look what's going down
There's battle lines being drawn
Nobody's right if everybody's wrong
Young people speaking their minds
Getting so much resistance from behind
It's time we stop, hey, what's that sound
Everybody look what's going down

(5,730 posts)I got home and turned on the TV just as Don was starting his comments. Then Clapper, former Obama intelligence, always very reserved, was interviewed. He said he was worried about DT having the nuclear codes.

Didn't watch/listen to Trump, but followed some live blogging and news comments.
Really surprised to hear something that brutal, live, from CNN.
Says a whole lot.
Trump is on a downhill slide, for sure. And he knows it, is acting out his fear and frustration.

(17,380 posts)If Il Duce had made it only ten more miles northwest, he would have been safely in Switzerland, where a plane was waiting to take him to Spain. Once there, Franco would have hosted and protected him until he was in his 90's.
I wonder if there's a similar plane waiting to take tRump to Russia.

(81,283 posts)That's some indictment right there.
Gone are the days when the mainstream media goes cutesy, no farther than the wussy, utterly flaccid "Prevaricating President?" Now they just come straight out and call it lying.
Finally. With this jackal, no flinching, no soft-selling, no euphemisms, no beating around the bush. They are finally declaring the truth, out loud and in writing.
Finally.

(5,730 posts)at the bits to try all of their automatic weapons on real people. Trump wants his name repeated in the history books, if any are left. Families are divided. People are breaking ties with friends and families. Gun sales are rising again. Plus, DT might see the dump Whitehouse burned again. He will thrive on the chaos so much it will be his most orgasmic experience. Like the housing crisis, he can brag about being "smart" to make money on it.

(8,554 posts)in a response to Mike Shields on the CNN panel:
If the President of the United States comes out and misquotes himself intentionally, to take pressure off of what we all know to be an inartful, insensitive and lack of cultured statement after Charlottesville, then I call that a lie.
If the president has made omissions and lies repeatedly, therefore I call him a liar. I don't think anything's wrong with that.
And then if you think someone's lying intentionally to you repeatedly and does it time after time after time after time again, knowing that we can roll back the tape, then I think it's also fair to say that that exhibits examples of being pathological.
So I don't think that there's anything wrong with those criticisms. I don't think that those are out of bounds or out of line. I mean, but I do think that we have to call it as we see it."

(4,490 posts)They normalized the lying and rants to the point subdued Trump became the new standard for him acting "presidential". Glad they're finally waking up to just how big of a problem this guy is.

(7,632 posts)have we seen a President so criticized, so disparaged and so under siege. Nixon, at the height of Watergate, wasn't in this much hot water.
Whether anything comes of it, we'll just have to wait and see, but I believe he'll be forced out of office somehow. He's doing too much damage to the GOP for them to allow this to go on for another 3 years.

(8,554 posts)and almost got out of hand several times. Granted, they were mostly all pissed-off cause CNN had been specifically attacked, but it was one of the first times that we didn't feel like throwing things at a cable tv whitewash of the asshat in our White House, especially since we'd both almost broken the damn thing watching that obnoxious rally. I didn't like the way Lemon kept cutting Symone Sanders off to allow that rethug Mike Shields to spew his kerap; Shields certainly isn't backing away yet, but that's probably why CNN hired him.
You're welcome, dixiegrrrrl, and thanks for the kind words.
