I've see stories for several months that she is thinking of a run for governor of Maine
She wins, special election

on edit:
That would be 2018, actually probably 19

She'll likely pick someone she thinks can win the Special or General Election

But you're assuming our votes as Dems will even be counted: IE: Voter-suppression: INCREASED crosschecking, INCREASED voter ID'ing, voting on machines that are easy to hack and tamper with, gerrymandering (Awaiting the ruling from the Supreme Court on WI. and if thuglicans can keep those pro-GOP voting districts drawn as they are, Dems are officially dead in WI., and they're almost dead NOW). Also, role will the ruskies will have in our elections this next time around? Whose to say they haven't developed a "plan" to disrupt voting in other Blue states? We know the GOP has a handle on the red states, and that the GOP and ruskies already have their hooks into PA., WI., and MI. What about Ohio, which I believe I read has been "tampered with" so to speak for the last 10 years worth of elections. We got positive court rulings in NC and Tx. concerning Dem voting rights. But elsewhere--the GOP thanks to Koch Brother and Mercer monies has it's voter-suppression track shoes on, and if that isn't bad enough we have a Dept. of Homeland Security that doesn't CARE if Dems can vote freely and fairly. We know beauregard wants to depress Dem voting.

Dems have almost NO leverage or voting say so, as thuglicans control every voting apparatus across this country--they collect and tally the votes. You trust them to give Dems honest counts, especially after most have pretty much turned a blind eye to mentally-deteriorating, tReasonous tRumputin? You trust Lyin' Ryan and Yertle? Hell, it's bad enough that Dems don't seem at this time to have a strong continual message as it relates to get folks out to vote. And, it seems that we have too many Dems who are "purity Dems" who want to see only certain types of Dems running for political office. I mean, they're not on the same page as those of us Dems who understand that if thuglicans hold all 3 branches of Government and improve on their numbers in 2018, we're officially dead as a party.

If nothing else, Dems better at least start yelling loud and screaming like there's a fire in a crowded theater before it's too late, and with little power as it is to really control voter-suppression etc. across this country, it may already be too late for us.
