Why Do I Keep Thinking Lucy Is Out There Waiting....??

Perhaps I have been a Dem too long and have a terrible fear of her pulling that damn football and lying on my back again....but something is wrong...I can smell it. Romney ran relentless attack ads on his primary challengers and they all hated the bastard. Obviously, the bastard knew Bain would be shoved up his butt sideways BUT he seems to have absolutely no plan in place to combat it or redirect attention from it. The billionaire animals he is playing with do not spend money for half-assed results. Just yelling "where are the jobs" is weak and spitting into the wind. So where is the bomb hidden? Obama has been the most vetted prez in history. Short of revealing that he is the real bin Laden (or his long lost brother) what are these bastards up to? It's waaaay too quiet on the western front..or the east, south or north.

And with that statement ... you answered your own question.

The insane RW has spent more than 4 years trying to find something, anything ... but the best they have is the same nonsense they started with ... Kenyan, Muslim, Commie, Socialist Facists, Racist ... blah blah blah.

They have thrown everything at him, and the people still like him. And while they try to claim he failed, the data says otherwise.

The GOP's plan was to (a) make him out to be "the scary other", and (b) stop him from having any successes. And they are failing on both efforts.

Obama SHOULD win in a landslide. The press HATES that idea because you don't need 100s of pundits talking 24/7 if it becomes apparent that Obama is way ahead ... but I tend to think that as we go forward, Obama will continue to increase swing state margins, and Romney needs to win almost ALL of them.

Romney has no plan. His policies suck. And he generates ZERO energy in his own base.

Romney needs people to hate Obama, and its not going to happen. And Obama is smart to paint Mitt as the evil guy. Its what Rove would do.

I'm wondering if the fat cats will start smelling defeat and pull the money.....or even if some of those Wall Street boys will pull and start donating to Obama to get in some last minute ass kissing?

Succinct wrap up of just how good things look right now.
Maybe The Scary Other is a dying concept in America?
I think of my own small workgroup where I am employed and I see whites, Vietnamese, Muslim, American-Indian, mixed-race, Chinese, catholic, born-again Protestant, straight, gay.
In one small group of about 15 people!
And we all have nothing but laffs and good times!

It's already over. America has already changed and we are all getting quite used to it.

I think if we can get past THIS election, the insane wing of the GOP is done. And their efforts to create the scary other will become nothing but a focal point for ridicule.

My son is 19, and his world is like the one you describe ... my daughters, 13, and almost 10, their friends are of many races and backgrounds, and we live in NC.

The haters are finding the world a smaller and smaller place for their insanity.

Have some faith. Not everything is a fucking global conspiracy.

Please don't be a Moaning Myrtle. Only close elections can be... ahem... as you say, stolen. Because there are bipartisan poll watchers all along the trail.

Disagree? Then volunteer yourself and stand up for election integrity.

Oddball: Hi, man.
Big Joe: What are you doing?
Oddball: I'm drinking wine and eating cheese, and catching some rays, you know.
Big Joe: What's happening?
Oddball: Well, the tank's broke and they're trying to fix it.
Big Joe: Well, then, why the hell aren't you up there helping them?
Oddball: [chuckles] I only ride 'em, I don't know what makes 'em work.
Big Joe: Christ!
Oddball: Definitely an antisocial type. Woof, woof, woof! That's my other dog imitation.

My favorite political line in that movie is this .... during the standoff at the bank ...

Crapgame: Then make a DEAL!
Big Joe: What kind of deal?
Crapgame: A DEAL, deal! Maybe the guy's a Republican. "Business is business," right?

Also liked him in Run Silent, Run Deep with Clark Gable and Burt Lancaster. Written by Ned Beach, a WWII submarine officer throughout the war. Good flick.

I love Kelly's Heroes. Oddball with his loud music while going into battle was like Apocalypse Now. Can't remember who copied from whom. Moriarity was played by the captain of the Love Boat. He he he.

Woof-woof!

watching it because its just too funny.

And Carroll O'Connor as the crazy general carrying around the box of medals!!!

I think the loud music was in Kelly's Hero's first ... I'm pretty sure Apocalypse Now came out a few years later.

i think you're naive to think the republicans are not doing EVERYTHING they can to win elections. the companies that make these machines are NOT bi-partisan. florida's repub government is purging the voter rolls again and have reversed the rights of ex-felons to vote. it's 2000 all over again. i have no doubt they will do what they can, legally AND illegally, to put repubs in office. call me a conspiracy theorist if you like but we have already seen how low they will go. do you really think today's repub party has more scruples than k-k-k-karl rove's repub party?

I honestly think that because Willard has always bought his way out of shit, he thought this wouldn't be any different. He has never been called to account for anything, and thought it would just go like always - he says no, and no one presses it.

Lord knows this stuff came out during the primaries (from mostly Gingrich, but to an extent, Frothy) and he thought it was behind him because no one pressed it then.

What a thing of beauty.

They also think God is on their side so something "miraculous" might happen to help them win. They are a pathetic disturbed evil bunch of people and it will be a tremendous pleasure to see them lose big in a November.

I mean, really. Birthers? It's a stupid and desperate as it sounds. Communist? Socialist? They'd have to find a copy of the Little Red Book under his pillow for it to be any more extreme than they've tried to imply.

I think that's one reason Obama's been so cautious this term. He's given them every opportunity to meet in some middle ground, hasn't given them any more ammo than it took to maintain his principles, and once they lose and go shrieking to Jeb Bush (I mean, really, who've they got?) he can wait for people to see how much better the economy and human rights are and let Hillary move on up and be the next ass kicking Democrat in the White House. Okay, I can dream, can't I?
