The ghostwriter of President Donald Trumps 1987 memoir Trump: The Art of the Deal claimed that the real estate mogul only six months into his presidency would soon resign. Tony Schwartz wrote on Twitter Wednesday that Trump is going to resign and declare victory before Special Counsel Robert Mueller and Congress leave him no choice.
Schwartz, a journalist and the CEO of The Energy Project, criticized the president in a string of tweets that claimed the circle is closing at blinding speed. He predicted that Trumps tenure at the White House would be cut short amid an ongoing investigation into Trump associates who allegedly colluded with Russia to influence the electoral process during the 2016 presidential election.
Trump is going to resign and declare victory before Mueller and congress leave him no choice, he wrote Wednesday afternoon. Trump's presidency is effectively over. Would be amazed if he survives till end of the year. More likely resigns by fall, if not sooner.
ust a few hours earlier, Schwartz had taken to Twitter to criticize the presidents leadership and his pattern of publicly castigating those who fail to meet his expectations.
Think of Trump as a toddler w/ reactive attachment disorder, and therefore in a permanent virulent tantrum. His development ended at age 7, he said. Remember that every time Trump criticizes and demeans someone he is projecting his deep sense of inadequacy & self-hatred onto others.

(6,377 posts)I give the ghostwriter credit, few people probably know Trump as well as he does. But things would have to get far worse for Trump before he thinks about resigning.

(17,276 posts)I would love to see him resign before his first year is up.
Remember, we are only seeing part of this unfolding catastrophe. Tip of the iceberg. Imagine what goes on behind closed doors.

(54,770 posts)I haven't gotten to "defriending." I think it is more likely now that I thought months ago, but Trump and racists are like cockroaches.

(4,026 posts)I don't see him going down without a fight. And I wonder if he'll try some sort of military move.
