... The Post found in 2015 that the designs of rectangular squares with blue crosses on a red background have been a part of the Times Square station décor for more than than 90 years.
They honor the late New York Times head Adolph S. Ochs, a Southerner who was buried with a Confederate flag.
The MTA which refused to say if their action to finally remove the tiles is linked to the events in Charlottesville has consistently disputed that the mosaics are actually Confederate Flags ...
These are not confederate flags, it is a design based on geometric forms that represent the Crossroads of the World and to avoid absolutely any confusion we will modify them to make that absolutely crystal clear, said agency spokesman Kevin Ortiz ...

(2,102 posts)I'm way more concerned about that loose wiring. I don't think it should be drooping out of the ceiling like that. There's one picture that shows it up against some pipes. That doesn't seem safe.
