The link takes you to the article, which itself has links to scribd.com which has the emails.
Some of those are down-loadable, but only if you have an account or you wish to use your Facebook/Twitter/Google id.
worth reading, and making yuor own copy, just in case they disappear, as some of them seem to have done.
The fraud-riddled Trump SoHo project ultimately failed and was foreclosed upon by lenders in 2014, but its legacy lives on in a byzantine web of lawsuits.
Weve obtained leaked copies of those emails related to a key lawsuit related to the Trump SoHo which are embedded below that outline the Trump familys complicity in a major financial crime.
They show that Donald Trump and his three eldest children participated in a cover up in order to keep borrowing massive construction loans on the hotel they pitched on NBCs Apprentice from failing during the financial downturn. The Trump Organization earned $3 million dollars from the fraud just last year alone, even as the hotels fortunes have sunk post-election.
Also....anyone surprised by these revelations???

Unless they can charge them under New York State law where he cannot pardon anyone.

And, remember, accepting a pardon is considered an admission of guilt though I don't know if that could be used as evidence in a state proceeding.

(60,010 posts)Even if they do not get him on treason/collusion etc. they have more than enough to get him and his kids on money laundering, which is worse, cause the Feds or the state can take everything he owns, including Mar Loco, away from him.
Planes, boats, jewelry, that winery he has been bragging about that he says he owns..everything gets auctioned off.
And that auction should be held on live tv, far as I am concerned.

But dear lawd let this be true!
dixiegrrrrl
(60,010 posts)Newspapers have to, usually, have 2 or more reliable sources to print a story.
and, sometimes, they hold onto a story at teh request of the prosecution, so as to not impede an investigation. We have all seen that in movies...
The guys putting stuff online do not have that constraint, and often have excellent sources, as you can see by the emails available in this post.
the Washington journal paper, (not the Washington Journal C-Span channel,) comes up with a lot of early info. I have not posted some of it unless there are good sources in the story, like these emails.
and, i happen to have been following the money laundering bit for some months now, as have quite a few Twitter investigators.

(60,010 posts)Trump and his spawn do truly believe they are superior to most of the human race.
Trump Jr. has been quoted to that effect.
So they live in a small bubble, seeing themselves as reflected in each other's eyes.
there was a study we all discussed on DU that said incompetent people tend to see themselves as very competent, much much more so than reality says they are.
We have all seen how Trump rejects ideas and facts he disagrees with. He honestly is bewildered why we all react so negatively to him.
He is sorta like the crazy uncle ( in my case, my aunt!) who believes Alex Jones is truthful and space ships are landing all over the place. No way can you convince him/her that is not true, yet they are not so crazy you can justify stuffing them into the loony bin.

(5,101 posts)...however, all in all, ways are not similar but the final target is the same.
Here, I would say a judge might discard (it depends) what had been leaked but I doubt he will drop the entire case.
I see a lot of people don't think he will be jailed.
It makes sense but I wonder, in this particular case, which is for sure unprecedented, is there a probability to see him jailed "for the example"? And to not create a precedent?
Not sure I'm very clear. I'm not an english native speaker.
dixiegrrrrl
(60,010 posts)There will be the question of precedence, of having a President go to jail.
It is more likely he will do what Nixon did, which is to resign under the serious threat of impeachment.
Then he will fall under New York RICO /money laundering charges, which are substantial.
he is being accused of those crimes at the federal and at the State level.
"Continuity of Government " is a big deal here.
He is done, this past week was too awful for him to have an serious credibility, so now the Republicans are realizing they have to do something. If he continues to piss enough of them off, as he has been doing, they will turn on him, because of the approaching House elections.

Bank obligations forbid loans to known felons or the companies they operate.
As both a manager and member of Bayrocks limited liability company which borrowed the money, Felix Sater both owned and operated the Trump SoHo project.
Anyone in the transaction who knew participated in the enterprise and hid that material fact from the bank if they knew about it, becomes the party to a criminal enterprise.

(36,827 posts)Throughout his career he has promoted his name "brand" as if associating with it brings success which inevitably never comes. The resulting fallout leaves only his investors holding the bag. This exact same business model is then repeated over and over. So perhaps I could have sympathy for someone who invested in him decades ago, but anyone who does so today should damn well know better. It's just more proof that just because you have money, doesn't mean you also have good sense.

he faced an array of similar lawsuits because he had licensed his name to developers around the world for projects that later collapsed. In each case, Trump had marketed the developments as his own, a claim contradicted by the sales contracts.
