(108,903 posts)i really follow the rescue dogs, and dogs that are bred to help our troops at home.
i also follow the dogs rescued from afghanistan and iraq.

(53,339 posts)A late friend of mine who served as a combat medic in Vietnam started a program that brought abused and traumatized children together with horses at a ranch. The results for the kids, naturally, were very therapeutic.

(29,381 posts)family, friends... I took in a stray calico and she has been the apple of my eye. She and I have a great relationship, even though she tends to wake me every morning around 5 to be fed and let out. Lol... I think the measure of one's heart and mind is how one treats animals.
