General Discussion
Related: Editorials & Other Articles, Issue Forums, Alliance Forums, Region ForumsIn the comparisons to 1930's Germany, #45 is usually seen as the Hitler figure. I don't think so.
I see Trump as analogous to Hindenberg.
For more details on Hindenberg - https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Paul_von_Hindenburg
The summary is that he was an old general in poor health who lead Germany from 1925 to 1933. He was feeble, slow minded, was not well read or informed about the world out side of the military, and he unwittingly played a role in allowing AH to become the leader of Germany.
Perhaps you see why I think that Trump is not Hitler.
But then who is? Pence? Bannon? A person unknown perhaps?
Pure speculation at the moment, but my money is on Pence. He has the ability to put a reasonable facade on outrageous policies. I do not think he would be a fascist dictator, more of a theocrat, and something like the world of The Handmaid's Tale would be his goal.
My 2 cents.
